Obituary

Sharon Lee Dettlo nee Alcock passed away peacefully on May 21, 2019. Loving mother of Tracy (Bill) Mason, Shannon Merrigan, Joseph (Erin) Dettlo, and Francis Dettlo. Proud grandmother of Greyson and Camden Dettlo. Cherished daughter of the late John P. Alcock and Bernice E. Alcock-Anderson. Dear sister of Patrick (Carol) Alcock, Elizabeth (Bill) Teevans, and the late Susan Hegberg, Christine Alcock, and Michael Alcock. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews, and a special friend of her late brother's longtime partner, Babes.

Sharon was born into a large family, and grew up in the neighborhood of Edison Park on the northwest side of Chicago. Her first passion was being a mother and homemaker to her four children. Later in life, Sharon went to college, and became devoted to caring for others while working in the medical field. Sharon had a devout love for animals, and spent much of her spare time rescuing strays and caring for injured animals that she found. She was loved dearly by her friends and family, and according to them, Sharon lived her "dash" to the fullest.
